Who do I see?

Contact us using the NHS App or eConsult

The easiest way to contact the practice for an appointment, medical advice or an administrative request is online.

You can submit an eConsult enquiry through the NHS App. We encourage patients to use the NHS App where possible, as it is secure, convenient and allows you to access a range of NHS services in one place.
NHS APP

To submit a request through the NHS App:

  1. Open the NHS App
  2. Go to Appointments
  3. Select Book an appointment
  4. Choose Ask about a health problem

You can also use the NHS App for certain administrative requests, such as requesting a fit note, asking about test results, or requesting letters and other information.

Your request will be reviewed by the practice team and you will be contacted with the most appropriate next step. This may include advice by text, a telephone consultation, a face-to-face appointment, or help from another suitable healthcare professional.

If you cannot use the NHS App, you can still submit a request directly through our eConsult online form on this website.

If you are unable to submit an online request, you can also call the practice. A member of our reception team will help you and ensure that your request is directed to the appropriate team.

Routine and Urgent appointment requests

All routine and urgent appointment requests are reviewed through our triage process. This helps us assess your needs and direct you to the most appropriate member of the team or service.

Please submit your request through the:

NHS APP

You can also use the:
E-Consult

If you are unable to submit your request online, please call the practice. Our telephone lines are open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm.

Our team will review your request and contact you with the next step. Depending on your needs, you may be offered a face-to-face appointment, telephone appointment, advice by text, or support from another suitable healthcare professional.

If you would prefer to see or speak to a particular clinician, please let us know when submitting your request. We will do our best to accommodate your preference where appropriate and subject to availability.

You may not always need to see a GP. Depending on your needs, you may be supported by another appropriate healthcare professional, such as an advanced nurse practitioner, practice nurse, pharmacist, physiotherapist or healthcare assistant.

For urgent medical help when the practice is closed, use NHS 111 online or call 111. In a life-threatening emergency, call 999.

Appointment information

We offer face-to-face and telephone appointments throughout the day. We also offer pre-bookable appointments. Please ask our reception team for further information.

Routine appointments are 10 minutes long. If you arrive more than 7 minutes late for your appointment, you you will be asked to re-book. This helps us keep clinics running on time and reduces delays for other patients.

If you would prefer to see or speak to a particular clinician, please let us know when submitting your request. We will do our best to accommodate your preference, subject to clinical need and availability.

We are a teaching and training practice. Trainee clinicians may work with the practice as part of their training programme and rotate at regular intervals.

Extended Access

Planned care appointments with different clinicians such as advanced nurse practitioners, practice nurses or health care assistants are available 7 days a week, including in the evenings, on weekends and on bank holidays. These appointments can be booked online or over the phone.

Appointments out of hours

If you need an urgent appointment, contact the practice during opening hours between Monday to Friday 8am to 6.30pm.

When the practice is closed, please ring NHS 111 or use NHS 111 online and they can help you with booking an urgent GP appointment.

Routine and urgent appointments are provided in the evening and weekends at the following locations. You will be told which location you need to travel to when your appointment is booked:

  • Barking Hospital Hub – Upney Ln, Barking IG11 9LX
  • Becontree Hub – 641-645 Becontree Ave, RM8 3HP
  • Broad Street Hub – Morland Rd, Dagenham RM10 9HU
  • Parsloes Hub – 2 Hobart Rd, Dagenham RM9 5NH

You should only attend A&E if you need immediate care for something very serious or life-threatening. If your condition isn’t life-threatening, in many cases, you could be seen faster by using other local services in your community.

If you feel unwell or have a minor injury, your local pharmacy can also offer advice and some medicines. Many pharmacies are open late and at the weekends, and you do not need an appointment to be seen:

Home Visits

If you are housebound (i.e. unable to get to the surgery) and feel that you may need to see a doctor, please ring the surgery as early in the day as possible, before 10.30 am. The receptionist will arrange for you to speak directly to a doctor to discuss your needs.
