We do not accept prescription requests by telephone.

Repeat prescriptions must be requested through your pharmacist or online. The new prescription will be ready to collect in 2 working days

It is useful to take your repeat prescription form to all hospital outpatient appointments. This information are also available on your NHS App.

Alternatively, you can nominate a chemist for your prescription to be sent to and save you a second visit to the surgery.

If you have registered to request your repeat prescription online, and nominated a chemist, no visit to the surgery is necessary. Please ask reception for more details.

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.

NHS prescription charges apply unless you are exempt.

The current NHS prescription charge in England is £9.90 per item. Prescription Prepayment Certificates are £32.05 for 3 months and £114.50 for 12 months for 2026/27.

Repeat prescriptions take 48 hours to be issued.  Please check with your pharmacy whether a prescription is ready to collect.

You also can check in your NHS App  if your prescriptions have been issued by the GP.
